On the 26th of September, Angela Didek came to our school to teach us a dance routine. We danced to jailhouse rock for our mini musical, "All Shook Up". I had a lot of fun learning and performing the routine and would love if Angelia returned soon. This rekindled my love for dancing and inspired me to go on work experience with Angela.
On the 7th of November, Angela returned to teach the whole of transition year, the dance to "We go together". We all squished into room M and got in pairs. I had a lot of fun learning the dance but then only certain people got to perform it, while the rest of us learnt a different dance. I liked it but unfortunately we have to start our dance right after the others which means they are in the way while we're dancing. It is very frustrating, because then half of our dance is over.
On the 14th of November, Angela, was back and taught us the rest of "We go together". We practised how we will run out on stage. This was stressful, as she chose some pairs to dance behind the leads. To do this they had to come out with us which meant a lot of shoving and pushing went on. Angela chose my partner and I to be in the front when it was our time to dance. I thought it would make the running out on stage bit easier but no. Some people took it upon themselves to push themselves to the front row, where they did not belong.
Throughout our dance lessons we have learnt a number of routines. One of them being "Born to hand jive" I was excited to learn this as it is very upbeat and would really get the crowd going. Having spent quite some time learning all of it and perfecting it, my hands were all red from the clapping parts that we rehearsed over and over again. Unfortunately life doesn't always go the way you want it to so when I found out the following week that certain people in certain groups would be doing a certain part of the dance I was angry. However that's life and it isn't always fair. Now from what I heard ( I was out when this happened) the better dancers were put in group one then the worst in group three. When I was told that I was in group three I was not impressed. I new that part of the dance of course but it was really short, now I'm not desperate for stage time but come on I did go on work experience with her, I at least thought I'd get something good out of it and so far all that has happened is me getting shoved into the background.
When it finally came to the show, my partner and I did a great job and I had fun however I am still annoyed that more dances weren't put into it and that only certain people were picked for everything.
